We love nature and the outdoors, we appreciate multiculturalism, we drink coffee (lots of it) and endure the rain no matter how unexpected the notice.

Quite often I get asked at the Hotel (and via Facebook and Twitter): “What do locals do in Vancouver?”. To answer that question isn’t easy as we’re all unique in so many ways – However there are a few commonalities and trends we usually see in Vancouver…

So here it is, a few fun ways to blend in and act like a local, (with a couple helpers from our Twitter followers!):

1. Get outdoors and Ride a Bike!

There’s a few reasons Vancouverites like to ride bikes everywhere:

1. Parking isn’t cheap!
2. It’s great exercise
3. We’re environmentally conscious!

Riding a bike is a great way to explore the city while getting in a good workout. There are plenty of dedicated bike lanes for convenient transportation and lots of great trails worthing checking out. In Vancouver, bikes aren’t just for kids!

2. Have Sushi for Lunch….and Dinner!

Sushi is the staple food…and the comfort food here in Vancouver. To get an idea of how much locals love it, there are over 225 sushi restaurants in the Vancouver area alone!

Being on the West Coast, you can hardly blame us – We have the best access to local fresh fish and our large Japanese population means we know what we’re doing! If you’re visiting Vancouver, be sure to try some of the local fresh sushi. Here’s a list of 10 great sushi spots to consider when in Vancouver.

3. Try Your Hand at Yoga

A few years ago, yoga in Vancouver was the latest craze…now it’s part of the routine. If you’re looking to fit in around Vancouver – getting fit is a good start. All you have to do is carry around a yoga mat, where Lulu Lemon clothing and have a slight look of enlightenment when you walk about the city.

But seriously, try your hand at a beginner Yoga class and you can see for yourself what all the fuss is about. To get started, check out Yoga on the Flow or Yyoga Vancouver.

4. Drink Coffee!

Vancouverites are known for always having a cup of coffee in hand. It’s a great way to keep warm, connect with friends or just to relax and enjoy with a nice book outside.

5. Embrace the Rain!

I’m not gonna lie to you here..it rains in Vancouver….a lot!

Local weather forecasts are about as accurate as a broken watch, so be sure to have an umbrella close by at all times (especially on the days you think you’ll need it least!).

6. Watch Canucks Hockey…duh!

You’ve probably heard that Vancouverites are obsessed with hockey and the Canucks. Well – it’s true.

Watching the Canucks game is a must if you want to experience Vancouver like a local. Head downtown and catch the Canucks playing LIVE at one of the top places to watch the game. The atmosphere is intense, the action is incredible and you may just fall in love with two telepathic twins from Sweden.

When travelling, scouring the web for useful links and asking random people for advice, well….sucks! To help you make the most of your stay, the Concierge Team at the Pan Pacific have put together a practicial guide you can use to make sure you can say you’ve been there and done that! Sights to See

First on the itenerary are some of the main hot spots of the city. If you’re looking for the meat and potatoes of Vancouver, here are a few of the more popular sights to visit (and for good reason!).

Stanley Park

This is Vancouver’s version of Central Park…only better!

Stanley Park is arguably Vancouver’s defining outdoor playground with a vast 1000 acre urban park located smack in the middle of Downtown.

Known for being one of the world’s best parks and hosting over 8 million visitors per year, Stanley Park has a lot to offer. Enjoy the views as your roller-blade, bike or walk around the famous 9 km seawall which circles the park.

The park also contains tennis courts, an 18-hole pitch and putt golf course, a seaside swimming pool at Second Beach, and the Brockton Oval for track sports, rugby, and cricket.

For entertainment inside the park, there’s the Vancouver Aquarium, Canada’s first and largest aquarium since it opened in 1956, and the Malkin Bowl – home to the local Theatre Under the Stars.

Grouse Mountain

Known as the “Peak of Vancouver”, Grouse Mountain provides an exceptional view of the city and has loads of exciting outdoor activities to choose from.

In the winter you can pound the slopes on your skis or board and hit over 26 local runs. If you want to try something different, you can go snowshoeing, take a sleigh ride or even ice skating on the outdoor pond.

When the weather improves, I recommend taking a hike up Vancouver’s favourite trail, the Grouse Grind.

The Grind is a 2.9 km trail which runs up the face of Grouse Mountain, commonly reffered to Vancouverites as “Mother Natures Stairmaster”. More than 100,000 hikers a year take on the challenge of the rugged terrain and steep climb, up an approximate 56% slope (30°), which starts at the Valley Station of Grouse Mountain and finishes at the Peak’s plateau.

The average hiker takes approximetly 1.5 hours to complete the Grind and for a $5 fee, you can take the tram on the way down.

Granville Island

A living, breathing urban oasis filled with fine waterfront restaurants, theatres, galleries, studios, unique shops, cafes, and a famous fresh food market.

The Granville Island Market has fresh local ingredients to choose from as well as dozens of arts and craft stalls where you can find unique clothing, jewellery designs and fine art. Be sure to check out the the famous Granville Island Brewery, where you can take guided tour and sample some of the latest and freshest brews.

The Island is also a true fun for the whole family hot spot with a Kids Market, an indoor Adventure Zone and Canada’s largest free outdoor Water Park.

The Public Market is open until 7pm, 7 days a week.

What to do in Vancouver….for FREE!

In my opinion, the best things to do in Vancouver are free! When you have a city as naturally beautiful as Vancouver, the best places to be are outdoors.

Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge

Hidden amongst the forest in North Vancouver is the beautiful Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge.

The Park officially opened to the public in 1912 and has been a popular destination among tourists and local residents ever since. Lynn Canyon Park is a great location for a family picnic, a leisurely hike, or a refreshing swim in one of the many popular swimming holes.

The main attraction is of course the 50 meter high (and frightening) suspension bridge. A definite thrill if it’s your first time. Don’t forget your camera for this one!

The Vancouver Art Gallery

The Vancouver Art Gallery stands in the centre of a city and is recognized as a nurturing ground for artistic talent. While on the inside there are plenty of events and exhibits, the front entrance is a beautiful place to eat outside, people watch or take a few photographs.

Gastown

If your into doing touristy stuff in Vancouver, a good idea might be to start in Gastown.

This was Vancouver`s first downtown core and it offers a wack load of historical buildings and monuments to snap cool photos with to make your next profile pic. Take a stroll down the cobbled streets to find some of Vancouver’s newest and trendiest places to eat, shop and people watch.

A few of the more popular sights include the famous Gastown Steam Clock, the Gassy Jack Statue and the Hudson Bay Warehouse.

There also plenty of cool places to get your eat and drink on. Two of my favorites include:

• The Chill Winston: A relaxing restaurant lounge with a killer patio in the core of Gastown.
• The Irish Heather: An authentic Irish House with the best drink menu in the city. A great atmosphere to have a pint with friends.

Vancouver Waterfront

One of the more beautiful areas of the city is the Vancouver Waterfront. Great for a stroll, with plenty of great coffee shops, parks and trendy real estate which is easy on the eye.

Be sure to visit the surronding areas, including the Vancouver Convention Center, (home of the Vancouver Olympics). Here you can check out still standing Olympic cauldron and the eye catching Digital Orca. Just around the corner you can also watch the Sea Planes leaving the Vancouver Harbor.

Tours

The Vancouver Trolley Company

The Vancouver Trolley Company is Vancouver’s only fleet of San Francisco-style Trolleys for a sightseeing tour of the city at your own pace. Where to Eat

Seriously…there are way too many great restaurants in Vancouver to narrow it down to just a few. Not only is our culture insanely diverse (thus making for some delicious authentic eats) but we also live on the West Coast, offering some of the freshest seafood you can shake a fishing rod at.

Here are just a few reccomendations:

The Salt Tasting Room

Looking for someting a little more unique? Try the Salt Tasting Room, located in a corner alley of Gastown (Blood Alley!), just a few steps away from the Pan Pacific Vancouver.

This restaurant offers an atmosphere of cheese, meat and wine pairings. The knowledgable staff knows their stuff and the food is worth the markup. The Salt Tasting Room offers an intimate atmosphere and a modern feel. Try this if you’re feeling adventurous!

The Cafe Pacifica Restaurant

OK, obviously I have to give a shout-out the Pan Pacific’s Cafe Pacifica Restaurant!

The Cafe offers a West Coast flavor with plenty of great dishes like our famous Sable Fish Platter, Chef Paul’s Curry and the Ahi Tuna Tar Tar (shown below).

They also have plenty of delicious daily features and perfected West Coast Fusion items. On the weekend’s, be sure to check out the Italian Opera Buffet which feature lives Opera music and a gourmet Italian Buffet Spread.

47. Treat yourself to a moment from the past, go for an early morning jog through the ancient trees of Light House Park, West Vancouver. Listen to the crashing waves on granite pier through the fog to watch the lights and take in the savory scent of the coastal waters.

48. Visit the Olympic Village that was built to host many international athletes during the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.

49. Vancouver is home to several professional sports teams, the most famous being the Vancouver Canucks Hockey team. Hockey season runs from September-April (or longer if the Canucks make the playoffs)! Be sure to see a live game to experience the great atmosphere at the always-packed Rogers Arena.

50. Sit on the beach of English Bay and watch the International Fireworks Competition in July and August.

51. Go cross country skiing or snow shoeing on Cypress or Grouse Mountain and end the day with a hot toddy or cheese and chocolate fondue. (winter only)

52. Check out Bard on the Beach during the summer evenings, where tents are set up in Vanier Park right by the ocean, so that spectators can enjoy Shakespearean performances that take place within the open tent.

53. Take in the flora and fauna at the beautiful Van Dusen Botanical Gardens.

54. View the Romanesque architecture of the Vancouver Public Library, inspired by the Roman
Coliseum.

55. Visit Point Atkinson Lighthouse at Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver. Hike the area a little on foot.

56. Sit on a log at English Bay or Sunset Beach and soak in the views while enjoying a delicious ice cream cone from Mondo Gelato on Denman Street. Don’t miss the breathtaking sunsets.

57. Further explore Vancouver on Transit by taking the Expo line to Metrotown, British Columbia’s largest shopping mall. During the summer months you can continue to explore further by taking a 20 minute bus ride from Metrotown station to visit the beautiful and historic Burnaby Village Museum; open daily except Mondays (May 7 – Sep 5).

58. Drive to Whytecliff Park near Horseshoe Bay, stop and enjoy the views overlooking Howe Sound.

59. Visit Science World, inspiring future science and technology. Great fun for the entire family.

60. Shop ‘till you drop on Robson Street – our own Rodeo Drive.

61. Enjoy Vancouver-based eco tours, the best way to see beautiful sea life, landscapes, sceneries and wilderness of Canada.

62. Visit Mount Seymour in North Vancouver for tobogganing or snow tubing. (winter season)

63. Visit the salmon hatchery and walk up to Cleveland Dam, then just sit and take in the world.

67. For something a little different, visit the Vancouver Police Centennial Museum. The heritage
building once housed both the Coroner’s Court and the City Analyst’s Laboratory. The museum now encompasses the original Coroner’s Courtroom offices, morgue and autopsy facilities. The museum also offers a ‘Sins of the City’ walking tour.
68. Ride in style…take a horse-drawn tour around the city’s famous Stanley Park.

69. Don’t miss a tour of the “Eye of the Wind” turbine at the top of Grouse Mountain; the world’s first and only wind turbine that allows you to stand on top of the tower in a clear glass viewPOD.

70. Kayak from Deep Cove to Indian Arm or join a guided tour of Indian Arm and the Burrard
Inlet. Departures from Deep Cove in North Vancouver.

71. Enjoy the marvelous and delicious Italian Opera Buffet at the Pan Pacific on Saturday nights.

72. Check out the Van Dusen Botanical Garden anytime of the year for a colourful display of nature in bloom. Roam the 55-hectare gardens and finish with a light lunch in the Shaughnessy Restaurant.

75. Utilize the Aquabus or False Creek Ferries to commute between downtown and the False Creek area. For cyclists, Aquabus also offers a Cyquabus ferry that can accommodate your bicycle at no additional charge (service runs from the foot of Hornby St and Granville Island).

77. On a rainy day, enjoy a show at the Omnimax Theatre at Telus World of Science or enjoy a movie at any local movie theatre.

78. While in Burnaby on a sunny day, venture out to Central Park, which is not too far away from Metrotown Shopping Mall.

79. On your return from Burnaby, take the skytrain up to Waterfront station and visit the Vancouver Lookout for a high up view of greater Vancouver, North Shore Mountains and on a clear day even Mount Baker in the US

80. Enjoy a variety of (over 200) gelato flavors at La Casa Gelato

81. Be naughty…visit the Does Your Mother Know magazine store on 4th Avenue

82. Visit the Night Market in Richmond and enjoy the spectacle. Indulge in the exhibitors’ cuisine or browse through the various products for sale…it is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. (summer only) www.summernightmarket.com

83. Take the train for a scenic day trip to Whistler and back to Vancouver. May through October only.

84. The Vancouver Art Gallery is always very interesting. Enjoy the exhibits of local artist Emily Carr and many other artists as well as special exhibits. Finish your visit in the delightful Gallery Café for a light snack or dessert

85. Enjoy Broadway performances in majestic Stanley Park at the outdoor Theatre under the Stars (summer)

86. For food lovers who want to learn more about the local cuisine, take a cooking class or partake in other culinary experiences at Granville Island.

87. Visit historic Steveston Village, which used to be one of the largest salmon canning facilities in North America, and go whale watching. Buy fresh fish from docked fishing boats or sample some of the best fish and chips in town at the Steveston Pier. Go for a nice jog or bike ride on the dike or have a picnic ay Garry Point and fly a kite.

88. Enjoy the local beaches; including Third Beach, which is Stanley Park’s nicest. Another choice would be Kitsilano Beach, which is the best in Vancouver. A bit further away from Vancouver, down in White Rock, Crescent Beach and White Rock Beach are arguably the greatest beaches in the area because the water is warmer and the area is delightful for a nice restful afternoon adventure.

89. Watch the sun set from the Cascades Lounge at the Pan Pacific Vancouver.

90. Go biking or hiking in Stanley Park. Bicycle rentals are available at the float plane terminal downtown (summer months only) and year-round on Denman St, near the entrance of Stanley Park.

91. Zip away with Grouse Zipline at the top of Grouse Mountain.

92. Take a Sea Safari on a Zodiac from Sewell’s Marina in Horseshoe Bay. Tours depart daily from April-October.

If you’re like most us, you’ve probably had your share of good, overhyped, (and bad) New Year’s nights. So unless you plan on crossing your fingers and hoping things go smoothly, be sure to take in a few pointers that will start your New Year off on the right foot.

Here are my Top 5 tips to get you ready for the big night:

1. Don’t wait till the last minute!

NYE parties fill up quickly and they get more expensive as you get closer to the end of the month. Plan your party in advance and save the hassle of scrammbling around last minute.

Everyone is different. Some people are looking for mellow and quiet whiles others are looking to dress up and do it big!

Whatever your fancy, make sure you research your party or venue before hand. New Year’s can often be an expensive night, so you don’t want to waste it in a place where you’re uncomfortable.

New Year’s night is notorious for over-consuming, so make sure you’re not the victim this year! Be smart and plan to remember your New Year’s the next day.

4. Plan a safe ride home

New Year’s is NOT the night to be driving.

First of all, you’re likely going to be drinking and it goes without saying, do not drink and drive.

Secondly, driving (and sometimes even cabbing) can be a time consuming process. There’s normally quite a bit of traffic at the end of the night and finding a cab is no easy task.

Avoid the hassle by staying at a hotel close to your venue or plan for a pickup.

75. Take the train for a scenic day trip to Whistler and back to Vancouver.(May through October only)

76. The Vancouver Art Gallery is always interesting especially if they are hosting a special event like Fuse. On select Fridays, they transform the Art Gallery into a posh social event. They have a DJ that spins tunes and live performances.

77. Enjoy theatre under the stars in Stanley Park.

78. For food lovers who want to learn more about the local cuisine, take a cooking class or partake in other culinary experiences at Granville Island.

79. Visit historic Steveston Village, which used to be one of the largest salmon canning facilities in North America, and go whale watching. Buy fresh fish from docked fishing boats or sample some of the best fish and chips in town at the Steveston Pier. Go for a nice jog or bike ride on the dike or have a picnic at Garry Point and fly a kite. www.steveston.bc.ca.

80. Enjoy the local beaches, including Third Beach, which is Stanley Park’s nicest. Another choice would be Kitsilano Beach, which is the best in Vancouver. A bit further away from Vancouver, down in White Rock, Crescent Beach and White Rock Beach are arguably the greatest beaches in the area because the water is warmer and the area is delightful for a nice restful afternoon adventure.

81. Take a walk in the woods at Pacific Spirit Park near UBC. Even when the weather is wet, the trails are protected from the rain by all the trees and plants. It’s also a mountain bikers’ paradise.

82. Go biking in Stanley Park. Bicycle rentals are available at the float plane terminal downtown (Summer months only) and year-round on Denman St, near the entrance of Stanley Park.

83. Zip away with the Grouse Zipline at the top of Grouse Mountain.

84. Take a Sea Safari on a Zodiac from Sewell’s marina in Horseshoe Bay. Tours depart daily from April – October.

85. For the voracious bookworm, bargain second hand books can be purchased either at MacLeod’s Books or at Canterbury Tales in the Kitsilano neighborhood.

86. Rent kyaks and canoes at Deer Lake in Burnaby.

I didn’t tell her when we left our apartment in the suburbs of Vancouver.

I didn’t tell her when we stood waiting on the Skytrain platform, when she attempted to ask probing questions. I didn’t even tell her when we stepped out of Waterfront station, 30 minutes later, amid the hustle of the downtown crowd.

In fact, I didn’t have to tell her, because as soon as we rounded the corner of Howe St, a knowing smile slipped across her lips, and I could tell, she had guessed correctly.

To celebrate my wife’s 30ish birthday, I decided to treat her to a night at the Pan Pacific Vancouver. We would play tourists in our own town – nay, tourists with a taste for luxury.

Now you may be wondering how I define luxury, since it is regularly overused in everything from travel agents to toothpaste. To simplify, I’ll say luxury means:

• pillows so comfortable they can induce cryogenic sleep
• views overlooking Coal Harbour that would make Justin Bieber weep
• scrambled eggs that arrive garnished with strawberries. Yes, the best kind of berry.

My wife and I like to think we’ve traveled a fair bit (over 15 countries and counting), though we rarely stay in such nice accommodation. But this was a special occasion, and Vancouver in the summer is a special time.

We decided to play tourists in our own city, and I highly recommend you do it as well. The following tips will help you start planning:

1. Go online and look up the most popular (or unusual) attractions in the city.

Sure, you’ve probably been to the Vancouver staples, like the Capilano Suspension Bridge, or Granville Island. But what about the lesser trodden attractions, like Dr. Sun Yat Sen’s Chinese Garden, or the Starbucks that’s across the street from another Starbucks? (Robson & Thurlow) Or find a bookstore and browse the Lonely Planet guide to Vancouver and marvel how they write about familiar places with fresh eyes.

2. Spend a night at a nice hotel.

When attempting to be a tourist in your own city, local accommodation is essential. This prevents you from worrying about parking your car, or making the drive back home later in the evening. For my wife’s birthday, the Pan Pacific was a nice surprise, (and I’m pretty sure my accumulated brownie points have yet to wear off).

3. Leave your work at home.

You probably have a Blackberry. Or an iPhone. Or one of the lesser popular phones that nobody knows. But if it’s classified as “smart,” it’s crucial to leave it at home. There’s nothing that kills the vacation vibe like checking your email and stressing about the report due by Monday. This was actually easy for me, since my phone is actually…just a phone. (In social status, it’s like carrying a beeper).

4. Take your camera, and buy some postcards.

When I’m anywhere near home, I find it difficult to drum up the motivation to snap photos. Perhaps it’s because everything is “too familiar.” In reality, it just means I’ve become too lazy to use my photographer’s eye. Rekindle your inspiration and pretend you’re on the road in a dazzling new city. Before long, you’ll be capturing memories, and earning good-natured disdain from other locals in no time.

5. Eat at fancy restaurants

After lounging at the Pan Pacific rooftop pool, my wife and I cabbed over to English Bay to watch the sunset. It was one of those perfect Vancouver evenings, when the air wafts in the ocean salt, and the view stretches clear to the islands in the distance.

Our first choice for dinner was the 5 Sails restaurant inside the Pan Pacific, but at that time we were across town, and my wife was becoming dangerously hangry (hungy + angry) – therefore it was fitting that we strolled up the street to Raincity Grill. My wife ordered the 3 course feature menu with the wine pairings. I matched her choice, with a wheat microbrew to wash it down.

The conversation was almost as sweet as the dessert. By the time the bill arrived (with triple digits) I had almost forgotten the reason we only do this once a year. Which brings me to my last point.

6. Take your time and enjoy the moments

Considering the amount of money saved by not jetting to a far-flung destination, playing tourist in your hometown is actually quite economical. My wife and I took our time waking up in the morning (remember, those pillows), and treated ourselves to breakfast in the downstairs Cafe Pacifica (eggs + strawberries).

By the time we arrived home, barely 24 hours had passed. Yet, we felt as renewed as a weekend in wine country, and less sunburnt than an escape to Mexico.

While there are dozens of great places to see in Vancouver, I have narrowed down a few of my favorites in this 2 part post on some of the best tourist attractions in town.

Gastown

If your into doing touristy stuff in Vancouver, a good idea might be to start in Gastown.

This was Vancouver`s first downtown core and it offers a wack load of historical buildings and monuments to check out. Take a stroll down the cobbled streets to find some of Vancouver’s newest and trendiest places to eat, shop and people watch.

A few of the more popular sights include the famous Gastown Steam Clock, the Gassy Jack Statue and the Hudson Bay Warehouse.

There also plenty of cool places to get your eat and drink on. Two of my favorites include:

• The Chill Winston: A relaxing restaurant lounge with a killer patio in the core of Gastown.
• The Irish Heather: An authentic Irish House with the best drink menu in the city. A great atmosphere to have a pint with friends.

Robson Street

No visit to the city can be complete without a trip down Robson Street – the heart of Downtown Vancouver. Robson is a great place to walk on sunny day and take in the sights and sounds of the city. This area is infamous for its high end designer shopping boutiques and trendy retail outlets.

Here you can find: BEBE, A|X, Danier Leather, and Zara to name a few. Even if you can’t afford some of the high ends boutiques, join the thousands of window shoppers and people watchers as they cruise the streets.

You can also find countless patios and restaurants overlooking Robson with plenty of local and international flavours to choose from.

I would recommend the Cafe Crepe for lunch or a quick snack and the Tropika Restaurant for dinner.

Stanley Park

This is Vancouver’s version of Central Park….only better!

Stanley Park is arguably Vancouver’s defining outdoor playground with a vast 1000 acre urban park located smack in the middle of Downtown.

Known for being one of the world’s best parks and hosting over 8 million visitors per year, Stanley Park has a lot to offer. Enjoy the views as your roller-blade, bike or walk around the famous 9 km seawall which circles the park.

The park also contains tennis courts, an 18-hole pitch and putt golf course, a seaside swimming pool at Second Beach, and the Brockton Oval for track sports, rugby, and cricket.

For entertainment, there’s the Vancouver Aquarium, Canada’s first and largest aquarium since it opened in 1956, and the Malkin Bowl – home to the local Theatre Under the Stars.

Granville Island

A living, breathing urban oasis filled with fine waterfront restaurants, theatres, galleries, studios, unique shops, cafes, and a famous fresh food market.

The Granville Island Market has fresh local ingredients to choose from as well as dozens of arts and craft stalls where you can find unique clothing, jewellery designs and fine art. Be sure to check out the the famous Granville Island Brewery, where you can take guided tour and sample some of the latest and freshest brews.

The Island is also a true fun for the whole family hot spot with a Kids Market, an indoor Adventure Zone and Canada’s largest free outdoor Water Park.

The Public Market is open until 7pm, 7 days a week.

Grouse Mountain

Known as the Peak of Vancouver, Grouse Mountain offers a ton of interesting activities to choose from.

In the winter you can pound the slopes on your skis or board and hit over 26 local runs. If you want to try something different, you can try snowshoeing, take a sleigh ride or even go ice skating on the outdoor pond.

Now that the weather is a little warmer, I recommend taking a hike up Vancouver’s favourite trail, the Grouse Grind.

The Grind is a 2.9 km trail which runs up the face of Grouse Mountain, commonly reffered to Vancouverites as “Mother Natures Stairmaster”. More than 100,000 hikers a year take on the challenge of the rugged terrain and steep climb, up an approximate 56% slope (30°), which starts at the Valley Station of Grouse Mountain and finishes at the Peak’s plateau.

The average hiker takes approximetly 1.5 hours to complete the Grind and for a $5 fee, you can take the tram on the way down.
