This Summer is Cruise Ship Season

This May, the Pan Pacific Vancouver has seen plenty of traffic around the hotel as thousands of travellers set sail on one of the many cruise ships that depart from the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal.

Every summer almost 300 cruise ships set sail carrying over one million travelers to various destinations.

Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been watching these massive vessels leave the harbour with happy tourists and frantic last minute arrivals.  Security for travellers is tight and the line-ups can sometimes reach around the block.

But with the weather making a brighter turn, more and more people are coming down to the pier to enjoy the views as they soak up the sun.

Even if you aren’t not lucky enough to set sail to paradise, I would recommend taking a stroll down the Canada Place walkway.  Here you can watch all the action with a great view of the city and the coastal mountains.

If you want to sit down to take in the sights and sounds, drop in on the Café Pacific Restaurant for a bite as you watch the cruise ships leave the harbour.
